I'm a 5th-generation St. Louisan, and I've watched this city lose too many great neighborhood places — the kind of spots you assume will always be there until one day they aren't. TourCWE is partly a love letter to the ones still standing, and partly a way to put people in their seats.
It's also a way to tell the real story of the neighborhood St. Louis built at the peak of the Gilded Age — the wealth, the race, the power, and the moments that made national news. Not the Chamber-of-Commerce version. The full one.
